The Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan Main Export Pipeline is a major international energy infrastructure project transporting crude oil from Azerbaijan’s Caspian Sea fields to global markets via Georgia and Türkiye. The pipeline is a cornerstone of Azerbaijan’s export strategy and plays a critical role in ensuring secure and diversified access to international markets.

The Government of Azerbaijan acquired approximately 80 percent of AzBTC Co., with financing provided by SOFAZ as a budget expenditure. Dividends attributable to the State’s share are accumulated by SOFAZ. SOCAR participates in the project through AzBTC Co., holding a 25 percent stake in the BTC consortium
